Arthritis Home Remedies

Arthritis is a very agonizing and unfortunately, very common disease. It is said that one in seven people have arthritis and a new case is diagnosed every 33 seconds.

Although there are more than 100 different kinds of arthritis, most fall into two general categories. Inflammatory arthritis(or rheumatoid arthritis) and noninflammatory arthritis (or osteoarthritis).

Even though arthritis is potentially crippling, there are things you can do to help control it. Here are some recommendations-

Eat your veggies- Researchers discovered that people with rheumatoid arthritis who began a vegetarian diet saw dramatic improvement in their conditions within one month after cutting out meat, dairy products, sugar and foods with gluten, such as wheat and bread.

Eat your fish- Salmon, sardines and herring. Rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which are shown to have a minor effect on reducing the inflammatory effects of arthritis.

Use a dehumidifier- If the humidity is kept constant in your house, it can help calm arthritis pain brought on by weather changes. When rain is on the way, the sudden increase in humidity and decrease in air pressure can effect blood flow to joints, which become increasingly stiff until the storm starts.

Stay active- One of the most important things you can do for osteoarthritis is excersize as much as possible. Often you'll realize the better your physical condition, the less arthritis pain you'll have.

Relaxation- When your tensed up, you hurt more. Whatever relaxes you, music, breathing or stretching. The main thing is to excersize a regular relaxation period and use these methods when pain acts up.

Take a calcium supplement-2000 mg a day of calcium supplements are said to alleviate the pain of arthritis.

Gin soaked raisins- You must use white raisins. You put the raisins in a shallow pan, cover with gin and let set until the gin is gone. Then you eat 9 raisins a day.

Potato water- Soak sliced potatoes in water overnight and drink the juice.

I hope that some of these home remedies help to reduce some of your arthritis symptoms. My husband has arthritis and I see how bad he suffers from the pain. To see what helped him, click the link below. Good luck to you all.
