Allergies Home Remedies

An allergy is what happens when the body detects something in it that it doesn't like. Your nose plugs up and starts dripping, your eyes get watery and itchy, and your lungs burn and wheeze.

Allergies come in a variety of forms but most fit into one of three different categories; contact, food, and inhalant allergies. The most common, inhalant allergies, we experience in response to material in the air we breathe. The biggest airborne problems include house dust, pollen, pet dander, and mold.

There are things that you can do to help ease the symptoms of allergies. The following tips will put you on a path to easy breathing and dry eyes.

Honey, honey, honey has a very good record of curing all types of allergies. Local honey, not store bought, is recommended and works best. One teaspoon a day, everyday will do the trick.

Avoid dairy products, foods rich in sugar, and refined foods.

For sinus allergies, take cayenne pepper and garlic together.

Take the herbs comfrey and juniper in capsule form.

Thyme tea is very good for sinus and cough problems. Dried thyme herbs can be added, in small quanity, to boiling water and add a few drops of honey, drink.

Change your enviroment:
Air-condition your house. Doing this can help with pollen, molds, and dust mites.

Install an air cleaner. By this I don't mean the $14.95 air cleaners. I mean the industrial quality modelsthat bolts into the air intake or outlet of your central heating and cooling unit. Of course, I'm not discouraging any type of air cleaner. After all any thing is better than nothing.

Buy a dehumidifier. Dust mites don't really do well at humidities below about 45%, the dryer the better, generally.
